Park Huntersville by Dustin

Last night I joined 7 of my Central Carolina Cycling Club teammates for some night riding at a lighted business park in Huntersville.  This place is known to draw every competitive person in the Charlotte area, so yeah, you may see Cat 1s and other elites.

This was my first ride at the park.  Starting around 6 pm, we warmed up for a couple laps, feeling the cold whoosh of air as we were lapped by the main pack.  Then we ratcheted up for some lung-burning, 22-24 mph paceline stuff and finally a leadout sprint.  The best thing about the park is that you can actually ride fast through the week.  That’s a hard thing to do with work schedules and no daylight after work.

I’ve hear that is a great place to train. Other than a 10k I ran that went through, I have yet been the to train on the bike.

This piece was a liajefcket that saved me from drowning.
